Description
The Richards headstone, located approximately 15 metres north-west of Newhouse Baptist Church, is a Grade II listed structure dated 1778 in memory of Mary Richards. It is made of hamstone and features an upright slab that stands about 1.2 metres high. The head of the stone is shaped and intricately carved with scrolls on either side of a winged cherub's head. Below this, a rectangular panel is framed with floral motifs. The inscription is in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, commemorating the death of Mary Richards in 1778.
