Description

This is an early 19th-century building, originally a bakery, situated on a corner plot where Fore Street meets Bridge Street in Sidbury. The exterior is stuccoed, and the steeply pitched roof is covered in slate, likely replacing what was originally a thatched roof. The front facing Fore Street is slightly below street level. It has two storeys with 2-light casement windows, each fitted with shutters. A porch with a tent-like roof supported by columns and a trellis extends from the front.

The corner frontage onto Bridge Street features a notable early 19th-century shop front, also covered by a tent-like roof supported by a wooden trellis replacing the original ironwork. The shop windows are divided into four panes. The entrance door consists of four reeded panels, flanked by thin reeded pilasters, and incorporates a rectangular fanlight above. A 2-light casement window with shutters is located centrally on the first floor. Originally, there was painted lettering in a scrolling design at first-floor level, though this is no longer present.

The building forms a group with Rivulet Cottage on Bridge Street.
