Description
The Court Hall and the adjoining outhouse to the west are located on Fore Street in Sidbury. Originally serving as the Manor House before the construction of the current 19th-century building, the Court Hall was restored in 1856 and is now divided into three residences.
The southwest front dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century and has been significantly restored. It features three storeys with coursed end random rubble, a parapet, and two gables with saddlestones. There are three windows, which are three- and four-light stone mullioned, with the ground floor windows having been heightened. A 19th-century gabled stone porch is present. The stone rubble outhouse connects to this front at a right angle, with its gable end showcasing stone mullioned windows.
The southeast front is a later addition, likely from the early 18th century, featuring a parapet with coping. It has a central first-floor window framed by a stone architrave surround, topped with a segmental pediment and a shallow pediment supported by scrolls above the parapet. Other windows are set in rusticated surrounds with keystones above and all have recessed sashes with intact glazing bars. There is a later or altered central porch that is glazed in, with banded rustication on the piers, a deep frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The front continues with a later addition, probably from the early 19th century, which includes two large two-storey segmental bows, a parapet with moulded coping, and three-light sash windows on each floor of the bows, also with intact glazing bars.
