Description

The Temple, located on the south-east side of Alexandra Terrace, is a Grade II listed building dating from 1824. It was originally designed as a reproduction of The Temple of Theseus in Athens. This structure was one of two summerhouses built for William Kendall; the other summerhouse, which was a copy of the Erechtheion, has since been demolished. Later additions include wings and bows, and the building is finished in stucco with some alterations.
