Description

The Beacon comprises a pair of stuccoed houses dating from the late 19th century. They are three storeys high with a basement, each featuring two windows. The northwest window of each house is a bay window, generally with unbarred sash windows. The top floor of No. 7 has a more modern bay window. The late 19th-century doorcases have distinctive features: No. 7 has a pedimented surround over a round-arched door with a fanlight, while No. 8 has a segmental arched hood supported on elaborately moulded consoles. The front areas are defined by iron railings; those of No. 7 appear to be from the earlier 19th century, while those of No. 8 are later, cast iron.
