Description
The Congregational Hall and White House Café, formerly known as the "White House Café (so-called Manor House)," are terraced houses with shop premises dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. They are built of stone rubble with freestone dressings and feature a bituminised slate roof with stone coping and moulded kneelers at the gable ends. The building has string courses over the ground storey and at the first-floor cill level, and flat stone arches with keyblocks. It is two storeys high with attics and consists of five bays. The sash windows have glazing bars, while the White House Café on the left has been altered with casements and a small 20th-century shopfront. There is a central splayed oriel window on the first floor and four stone gabled attic dormers. The building is included for its group value.
