Description
The Jubilee Pump is a water pump dated 1887, located in Colaton Raleigh on Church Road. It is constructed of flint and features a granite plaque. The pump is set within a concave curving wall made of rough flints, flanked by square terminal piers. These piers have rustic caps topped with upright flints, and the wall is similarly capped. A 20th-century replacement tap is situated in a round-headed alcove, which has a plain flint architrave. Above this alcove is a rectangular granite plaque inscribed in plain capital letters. The inscription reads: '1887. This tap with seven others was erected as a memorial of the Jubilee Year of H.M. Queen Victoria for the benefit of the present and future inhabitants of Colaton Raleigh. The mains were provided by the Hon. Mark Rolle at a cost of 300 pounds and the taps by the inhabitants at a cost of 12 pounds. God Save the Queen.'
