Description

Ford Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse, possibly incorporating an earlier core. It is a stone rubble building arranged in an L-shape. The roof is covered with asbestos slate and has stone coping to the gable ends. The farmhouse has two storeys, with two and one window ranges. It features 18th-century windows with two, three, and four lights, wood mullions, leaded panes, and flat stone arches with keystones. The front door has a moulded doorcase with panelled reveals and a porch supported by slender columns. Rendered chimney stacks have moulded cornices. Inside, there is a late 18th-century staircase with stick balusters. A plank and muntin screen is present in a first-floor room of the south-east wing, which was likely the original house.
