Description
The Axminster Saleroom, built between 1795 and 1796, was originally a Methodist Chapel. It features red brick construction on a stone rubble plinth and has a steeply pitched hipped roof covered in asbestos slate. The building stands two stories tall and consists of three bays. The front façade includes sash windows with glazing bars, and a large round-headed window on the first floor with a fanlight above it. There is a plain doorway to the left of this central window, which also has a rectangular fanlight.
At the rear, there is a similar round-headed window on the first floor, but this one retains its original frame with radiating glazing bars and a central opening light. Additionally, there are double doors leading to the first floor on the north side, and a truncated chimney stack is located on the south side.
