Description

Regent Furniture Showrooms is a market building dating from around 1830 that has been converted into a cinema and is now used as shop premises. It features a slate hipped roof supported by stuccoed square brick piers and is one storey high, with a layout of six by four bays. Originally, the building was open-sided, but the bays between the piers are now blocked or fitted with glazed shop windows. A lantern is positioned over the ridge, supported by thin wooden columns and topped with a pyramidal slate roof. The south side has a modern cinema front addition, and there are additional structures on the west side as well.
