Description

The Old Farmhouse, formerly known as Bowditch Farmhouse, dates to around the 16th and 17th centuries. It is constructed of stone rubble, with a thatched roof featuring half-hipped and gabled ends and eyebrow eaves. The farmhouse is L-shaped, with a short wing to the north-west. It has two storeys and a three-window front. The windows are small modern casements with glazing bars. A modern, glazed door is located to the left of the centre, sheltered by a modern wooden porch. Rebuilt brick chimney stacks are visible at the ridge and gable end. A staircase projection is situated at the rear. Inside, the north end of the farmhouse contains one jointed cruck truss, chamfered ceiling beams, and an open fireplace with a chamfered bressummer.
