Description

Willowhayne is a house dating to the 16th century. It is constructed of stone rubble, with rendered end walls, and has a new concrete tile roof with gabled ends. The house has two storeys and a five-window front. The windows are casements with glazing bars, and a modern door is located to the left of an external stone chimney stack, which has set-offs. There is also a left-hand plank door with side lights. A rebuilt brick chimney stack is situated at the north-west end. A large, modern, flat-roofed extension stands at the rear, and a four-light window with ovolo moulded woodwork is present at the rear. The interior features jointed cruck trusses. A plank and muntin screen defines the cross passage, with an arched doorway on the opposite side. The ceiling has stopped and chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. There is an open fireplace on the front wall and a chamfered bressumer. Group value context: the building contributes to the character of the area.
