Description

The Congregational Church, built in 1688, is a single-storey structure with a hipped roof covered in renewed slates. It is constructed of red brick featuring many dark headers. The main entrance has a round-headed door opening with a moulded archivolt and imposts. To one side, there is a large window with a segmental head and lozenge panes. A short avenue of limes leads up to the door, and there were formerly good iron railings.

On the east side of the building, there is a similar but later door opening. Schoolrooms have been added at the rear. The interior has been modernised but still contains a good antique clock. The church is located on the site of an old bowling green, with its foundation dating back to 1662. Repairs were made in 1842 and later.
