Description

Tickens is a cottage dating from the 17th or 18th century. It is constructed of rendered cob and originally had a thatched roof, which is now covered in corrugated iron. The building has two storeys and features a three-window range with small modern three-light casements. There is an early 19th-century shopfront that includes glazing bars and an entablature. A late 19th-century panelled door is located off centre and has a rectangular fanlight above it. The cottage has rendered chimney stacks at both ends and along the ridge, and there is a catslide roof at the rear over an outshut.
