Description
The wall and railings located approximately 15 metres east of Sidmouth Lodge date from the late 18th century to early 19th century. They are constructed of stucco on brick with limestone coping and feature cast iron railings. The long, low wall is interrupted by two piers and has terminal piers at each end, with railings in between. The wall describes a shallow arc that projects outward on the side facing Sidmouth Lodge. It has a plinth and weathered coping, while the square-section piers have moulded bases above the plinth and flat pyramid caps. The railings are topped with spear-headed caps. This wall is part of the original design for Sidmouth Lodge, which serves as the main entrance to Bicton Park.
