Description

BICTON BICTON PARK SY 08 NE 3/21 Wall and railings approximately 15 - metres east of Sidmouth Lodge GV II Wall and railings. Late C18 - early C19. Stucco on brick with limestone coping; cast iron railings. Long low wall interrupted by 2 piers and with terminal piers each end and railings between. It describes a shallow arc projecting outwards on the opposite side of the road facing Sidmouth Lodge (q.v.) . The low walls have a plinth and weathered coping. The piers are square in section with a moulded bases over the plinth and flat pyramid caps. The railings have spear-headed caps. This wall is part of the original concept of the Sidmouth Lodge (q.v.), the main entrance to Bicton Park.
