Description
54A Victoria Road is a mid-19th century almshouse type reflected terrace. The building is two storeys tall and constructed of red brick, featuring stone rustic quoins and stone dressing with inner roll moulding. Each house has a combination of two light and single light casement windows on the first floor, while the ground floor windows have shaped and pointed heads. Nos 54 and 56 retain small pane glazing, and the doorways have chamfered heads. Nos 54 and 56 flank a through passage door, with all except No 54A having beaded, ledged doors. The roof is tiled with fishscale bands and has four brick ridge chimneys, two of which have stout moulded capping. There is a dwarf brick wall along the road with stone capping that returns to the right to form a central path, and the left-hand wall has brick capping.
