Description
Nos 269 and 270 in Turleigh are two houses built around 1700. They feature an ashlar front with Bridgwater tile roofs, end stacks, and a ridge stack located between them. Each house is three storeys tall and has three windows across the front.
No 269 has an obscured ground floor, with first floor sashes that have hoodmoulds set in frames of former stone cross windows, and a second-floor three-light hollow-moulded mullion window, which is flanked by later plain windows.
No 270 retains its original moulded plinth and dripcourses, although the ground floor has been refaced in the 19th century, featuring a door flanked by paired sashes. The first floor has recessed cyma-moulded stone cross windows, while the second floor has a pair of plain casements on each side. Both houses have two-storey rear elevations facing the road.
