Description

Turleigh Down is a villa built around 1850, featuring an ashlar front and a slate roof. It has coped gables and end stacks. The building has a formal two-storey front with three windows, which are fitted with plate glass sashes. It includes rusticated quoins, a plinth, a moulded band, a cornice, and a parapet. The central entrance consists of a five-panel door framed by shallow pilasters, topped with a cornice and a ridged block. There is a parallel rear range. This villa was constructed for the Wilkins family and does not appear on the 1841 Tithe map. It was formerly known as Rock Villa.
