Description
The lodge to Erlestoke House, now H.M. Prison, is an early 19th-century building located on the north side of Cheverell Magna along the B3098. It is rendered and colourwashed, featuring a lead-faced felt roof. The structure is single storey with three bays, including an additional bay at the rear of the center. A central Doric portico supported by paired columns is a prominent feature, with flanking four-paned sash windows. An entablature moulding and cornice encircle the building. There is a single storey extension to the right and 20th-century modifications at the rear. The lodge has group value with the railings nearby.
