Description
Nos 84 and 85 Waterlane are a pair of estate cottages built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from coursed rubble stone and feature a tiled gabled roof with a group of four diagonally set axial ashlar stacks. The cottages are single storey with an attic and have two windows. Each cottage has two gabled stone porches, each with a four-panelled door in beaded architraves on either side, and in the center, there are two three-light casements. The flush dormers have two-light casements. The right and left returns also feature two-light casements on both the ground and first floors. At the rear, there is an integral outshut with two-light casements. The interiors have not been inspected. These cottages are a well-preserved example of estate building by the Longleat Estate.
