Description

The Hooper Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 20 meters south-southwest of the tower of the Church of St. James. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of pennant stone. The south side features two low relief arched-headed plaques, with an urn set in an arched recess between them. The north side has two rectangular plaques adorned with foliage in between. The tomb is designed with lyre ends that include fruit and flower drops, and it has a moulded base and capstone.
