Description

Foxfire Lodge is a Grade II listed building located in Box Rudloe, constructed around 1855 as a lodge for the Hartham Park estate. The building is made of ashlar stone and features a low-pitched slate roof with eaves and a stack at the north end. It is one and a half storeys tall and has an L-shaped plan in the Italianate style, resembling other lodges associated with Hartham Park in Corsham.

The eaves of the roof are bracketed and treated as an open pediment on the south gable, as well as on the east and west gables of the north crosswing. There is a raised sill-band beneath the attic windows, which are fitted with glazing bar sashes. The crosswing includes a 9-pane window at the east end above a ground floor ashlar hipped canted bay, while the west end features a similar window but with a timber canted bay. The south end has a ground floor 12-pane sash window.

At the angle of the east side, there is a Roman Doric porch supported by two columns, which features a cornice and two urns atop the columns. Originally, the porch was open but has since been infilled.
