Description
Yew Glen is a house located on Mere Castle Street, likely built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of small squared coursed limestone and features a low-pitched slate roof with brick gable stacks and coped verges. The building has three storeys and two windows across its front. The ground floor includes a 12-pane sash window and a flat-roofed canted bay with small-paned upper lights. In the center, there is a glazed door with a transom light, topped by a flat metal hood supported by cast iron brackets. The first floor features a tall hipped oriel supported by shaped brackets and adorned with a modillion cornice, alongside a 2-light casement window flanked by small curved glass lights. The first floor also has 2-light 20th-century casements. The high ceilings contribute to the building's lofty appearance, and it is included primarily for its group value.
