Description

Latimer House is a late 18th-century house situated in a street row. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with an asbestos cement slate roof. The house is two storeys and an attic, with a near-symmetrical facade of three windows, though the windows are set off to the left. All the windows are replacement sashes in original openings. A six-panel, all-glazed door is set within a moulded architrave and has a closed pediment supported by brackets. A large, flat-roofed, six-light dormer is situated behind the parapet, flanked by lay-lights. Other details include a plinth, mid plat-band, cornice and blocking, rusticated quoins, and a coped gable. Two 19th-century brick gable stacks are present. The frontage displays a quality above average for the town.
