Description

The Robbers' Stone is a memorial stone located on the east side of the A360 in West Lavington, dating from around 1840. This limestone monument is cuboid in shape and stands approximately 1.6 meters high. It features a cast iron plate attached to the front, which bears an inscription in incised lettering. The inscription records a robbery that occurred on October 21st, 1839, along with the pursuit, apprehension, and punishment of four felons.
