Description
Oaksey House is a former rectory, now a detached house, dating from the late 18th century, with alterations and additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. The main body of the house is constructed of squared and coursed rubble with flush rusticated dressed stone quoins, blocked stone dressings to the windows, and a stone slate roof. The left wing has a stone slate roof, while the right wing has Welsh slates. Brick stacks are present on all three sections.
The south front features a two-storey and attic, five-window central section, a single-storey, one-window lower addition to the left, and a two-storey, two-window addition to the right. The central windows are 12-pane sashes, with the exception of two ground floor bays to the left, which have 19th-century plate glass sashes. Two hipped dormers are present, each with a two-light, small-pane casement. A central doorway has an open pedimented doorcase and a part-glazed panel door. The left-hand wing has a 12-pane sash and a blocked window, and the right wing has similar features along with a further door. Later service additions are located to the rear. The interior is not accessible.
