Description
Dalwood Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse constructed from rubble stone, featuring a double Roman tiled roof with coped verges and brick stacks at the gable ends. The house includes an integral outshut on the north side and is two stories high with a two-window south front. The central entrance consists of a planked door set in a chamfered case, situated within a gabled porch. To the right of the door is a 3-light casement window, while to the left is a 2-light casement. On the first floor, there are two 2-light casements. The rear outshut has two 2-light wood mullioned casements on the ground floor. The left side of the building features a lean-to extension. Attached to the right side is a cross wing that includes a planked door and 2-light casements, along with single-storey outhouses that have stable doors and a half-dormer with a 2-light casement. Inside, the farmhouse has chamfered beams with run-out stops on both the ground and first floors, a blocked open fireplace on the ground floor, and a square chamfered stone fireplace on the first floor. There are winding stairs located in the outshut and on the south side of the cross wing, along with planked doors throughout.
