Description
The dovecote at Hydes House is a 17th-century structure made of rubble stone, featuring a hipped roof covered with tiles and stone slates. It has a rectangular shape with an added outshut on the south side. On the east side, there is a low double chamfered doorway with a ledged door and a relieving arch, along with a small inserted window to the left. The outshut on the south side has a coped verge on its tiled roof, an open window, and a planked door. Inside, the dovecote is lined with stone pigeon boxes and has a three-bay roof supported by vee-struts connecting the tie-beams to the principals, with straight bracing from the tie-beams to the walls. The walls are approximately 1 metre thick.
