Description

Monks Park Gardens and the walls to the adjoining walled garden are located in Corsham. The house, dating from the later 17th century, is built of coursed rubble and features a Bridgwater tile roof, coped gables, and end wall stacks. It has two storeys and an attic, with a formal five-window east front. Each floor has two-light recessed cyma-moulded mullion-and-transom windows, and there is a drip course over the ground floor. The central door is set within a moulded architrave, and there is an oval light in the attic at the north end. A north-west rear wing and a 20th-century rear extension are present. To the south-west, high coped walls enclose a large garden, constructed of rubble stone with brick lining that extends across the south end wall of the house. An outhouse is attached to the outside of the north wall of the garden and features three flush cyma-moulded two-light windows.
