Description
Number 8, Number 10, and Lilac Cottage are a row of three houses, now functioning as two, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. They are constructed of rubble stone and feature stone tiled roofs, standing two storeys high. Number 8 has end stacks and a three-window arrangement of 2-light recessed cyma-moulded windows, with the centre first floor window blocked. It also has a drip course and a centre door set in a flush chamfered surround. There is a 20th-century extension at the north end. Inside, there is a stone arched fireplace and a long chamfered spine beam at the south end. Number 10 and Lilac Cottage have been combined into one house, slightly projecting with a ridge stack and a north end stack shared with Number 8. This section has a three-window range of 2-light recessed cyma-moulded windows with hoodmoulds, a two-window range for Number 10 that includes a central door beneath a timber lintel, and a one-window range for Lilac Cottage, which has a lower window with a missing mullion and a door at the south end.
