Description

Ridge Cottages, now three separate dwellings, were built in the early 18th century. They are constructed of rubble stone with plain tile roofs, featuring coped gables and stacks at the ridge and west end. The south front, which is in an 'L' shape, has two storeys and contains three upper two-light mullion windows – one bead-moulded, and two with flush cyma-moulding. The ground floor has two-light windows with a door to number 4, and a door to number 5 set within a moulded flush surround with a hood supported by brackets. Both ground floor windows have flush cyma-moulding. A lower wing extends to the south with a ridge stack and a coped gable. The west side has a three-light bead-moulded window, a blocked door, and a small-paned window on the ground floor, with a small dormer gable above. The east side features two dormer gables with three-light casements, a ground floor garage door, a central door, and a small-paned window. The main range extends further, with one unmoulded two-light window on each floor. Single-storey additions date to the 20th century, as does a rear wing to the north-west.
