Description
Ridge Side Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins in the 17th century that was remodeled in the 18th century. It is constructed of squared rubble and features a stone-tiled hipped mansard roof, with an east end stack and a ridge stack. The building has two storeys and an attic, presenting a four-window range with flush quoins and two dormers. The entrance consists of a plank door set within a bolection-moulded surround that includes a cornice, with a 16-pane sash window above. The farmhouse also has small tripartite windows in flush moulded surrounds, featuring fixed side lights and 12-pane centre sashes, along with dripstones above the ground floor windows. To the left of the door is a two-window range, while to the right is a one-window range. At the rear, there are two dormers and a one-window range of similar tripartite windows on either side of the door, which has a hood supported by brackets. A lean-to on the right obscures a 17th-century three-light recessed ovolo-moulded window.
