Description

Lime Tree Cottage and Rose Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It features flint and stone chequerwork with a cogged course under the wallplate and a thatched roof. The main block, known as No 18, has three bays with an entrance at the south end. There is a later cross wing, likely from the early 19th century, which is of similar construction but has higher eaves and a tiled roof, located at the north end. An early 20th-century timber and glass porch has been added. The cottage has two and three-light timber windows and three flush dormers. A brick stack is situated between the first and second bays. Lime Tree Cottage includes a 19th-century end bay to No 18 and a two-bay rear wing that has a boarded door with a glazed panel in the first bay. The paned timber windows have cambered heads. Inside, there is a chamfered spine beam and an axial stack in the left bay.
