Description

These are a pair of red brick houses, numbers 86 and 87, located on Exeter Street and dating to approximately 1840. Number 87 is slightly taller than number 86. Both houses have low-pitched hipped roofs; number 86 has a slate roof, while number 87 has a tiled roof. They each feature a single window. Number 86 retains intact glazing bars on the upper floors and has a slightly bayed shop front on the ground floor, likely dating to the early 20th century. Number 87 has a first-floor box bay window with nine panes to the front, which is now painted, with panels on the sides. It also possesses a plain cornice. The ground floor has a sash window with later glazing and a six-panel door within a plain pilaster case. Numbers 81 to 87 form a notable group.
