Description

Ropewind Cottage is a house dating to the 17th and 18th centuries, with a 20th-century extension. Originally a timber-framed structure, it was later rebuilt in brick on a flint and brick foundation. The roof is thatched. The cottage is single-storey with an attic, and has two bays with a gable facing the road. A two-bay cross wing was added to the rear in the 20th century. An exposed timber roof truss is visible in the gable. A boarded door is located to the left of the original two bays, sheltered by a thatched canopy. The windows are timber casements. The thatched roof sweeps over one dormer and has a half-hipped profile. A stack is situated opposite the entrance door.
