Description
Nos. 8 and 10 Pickwick are a pair of houses dated 1739, constructed from limewashed rubble stone with a stone tiled roof. The buildings feature coped gables with saddlestones and a central ridge stack. They are two storeys high with an attic, each house having a two-window range. The windows on the ground floor are flush cyma-moulded mullion windows with a drip course above the centre. The first floor has a 1-2-2-1 light window arrangement, with the centre window containing a blank panel and a datestone inscribed "ISN 1739." On the ground floor, there are two similar 2-light windows, with doors on either side, all set in flush moulded surrounds. These are enclosed in 19th-century gabled ashlar porches featuring moulded round arches and blank panels above. All 2-light windows have 19th-century iron lattice glazing, and there are single light windows in the attic at each end. Additionally, there is an east end addition to No. 8 with a canted wall at the north-east angle.
