Description

A pair of cottages dating from the mid-18th century, located on The Green in Wilcot. They are constructed of blue vitrified brick laid on stone footings, featuring red brick vertical banding. The roofs are thatched, with dormers breaking the roofline. Each cottage originally comprised three bays; the cottages have front doors positioned in the inner bays, each with a thatched canopy. Timber casement windows are fitted with segmental heads. A central, uninscribed arched date panel is present. Number 50 has been extended to the left by one bay and thatched to match the original. Number 51 has been extended to the right by two bays, a later addition dating from around 1980. Number 50 is said to feature an inglenook fireplace.
