Description
The Kings Head is an 18th-century inn located on the north side of The Street in Whiteparish. It is constructed of painted Flemish bond brick and features a tiled roof with a hip to the left and a half-hip to the right, along with brick stacks. The building has an L-plan layout and is two stories high with a five-window front.
The central entrance consists of a three-panelled door set within a moulded architrave, topped by a flat wooden hood supported by brackets. To the left of the door is a blocked entrance, while to the right are a 12-pane sash window in a canted bay and a fixed window. A three-brick plat band with an ogee lower course runs along the left part of the front, and the first floor features five two-light casements. A large lateral brick stack is located on the right side of the building.
The left return has two-light and 20th-century casements, a three-brick plat band, and a three-light casement on the first floor. The right return is blank. At the rear, there are casements and a planked door, along with a two-storey wing to the right. The interior is not of special interest.
