Description

Studley Pump, located to the south of No. 191, The Black Horse, was built in 1862 and is a Grade II listed structure. It was presented by the Reverend W. J. Hardman of St John's Studley. The pump features a Gothic stone design with a pointed arch consisting of two orders and a label beneath a high pointed gable that contains a blind pointed tablet, also with a label. The structure has a coped verge with a saddlestone, moulded footstones, and angle buttresses. Inside an arched recess is an octagonal cast iron pump topped with a finial. Above the pump is a shield inscribed with "Let him who is athirst etc."
