Description
Threepennybit is a detached cottage located in Orcheston St. Mary, dating from the late 17th century. The building is constructed of cob and chalk, topped with a thatched half-hipped roof and features brick stacks. It is a single-storey structure with an attic, comprising two windows. The entrance is a 20th-century door, with a three-light casement window to the left and one two-light and one three-light casement window to the right. There are two eyebrow dormers, each with two-light casements. The right side of the cottage has a single casement window on both the ground and first floors. The rear of the building includes 20th-century casements and an extension. Inside, the cottage features chamfered beams with ogee stops and a chamfered lintel above an open fireplace with brick jambs, along with 18th-century box stairs.
