Description

A detached house dating from the mid-18th century, situated in Orcheton. Originally an L-shaped plan, a 1930s extension created a square layout. The walls are built of cob, with a tiled, hipped roof and brick stacks. The front elevation has two storeys and three windows. A central 20th-century door is sheltered by a porch, flanked by three-light leaded casement windows. The first floor features three similar three-light casement windows, all with segmental heads. The left return has a planked door and a single three-light casement window at both ground and first floor levels. The right return has a three-light casement window, French windows, and two first-floor three-light casement windows. A 1930s addition to the rear features two-light and three-light leaded casement windows, as well as a half-glazed door. A later 20th-century extension is located at the rear right. Internally, the house features doors with six fielded panels and moulded architraves. The staircase has turned balusters, but it is not in its original position. Timber-framed partitions are also present.
