Description

The stable block at The Rookery is a Grade II listed building dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of cob on brick footings and features a Welsh slate roof, designed in a T-plan layout. To the left of the main range, there is a gabled porch with a stable door, while to the right, a 2-light casement window with Gothic glazing bars and planked doors can be found. The left wing contains stables, which include a gable with a tripartite sash window and a 2-light casement with Gothic glazing bars on the left return. The rear of the building has had garage doors inserted. The hipped roofs have deep eaves. Inside, the stable fittings are preserved, including loose boxes and cast-iron mangers.
