Description

Wolfhall Bridge is an accommodation bridge located on the Grafton stretch of the Kennet & Avon Canal, built in the early 19th century. It follows a standard design by engineer John Rennie, who oversaw the canal's construction from 1794 to 1810. The bridge is made of brick and stone, featuring a single elliptical arch, a band, solid parapets, and piers with stone coping. There is a retaining wall along the towpath with brick coping. At the northwest corner of the bridge, there is a single early 20th-century Great Western Railway weight restriction sign. This cast-iron sign is lozenge-shaped with raised lettering and is mounted on an iron stanchion.
