Description
4 and 8 Foxley Road is a terrace of houses located in Malmesbury, originally built in the early 19th century with an additional pair added in the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed from limestone rubble, with the right-hand pair featuring coursed stonework, brick ridge stacks, and an interlocking tile roof. The terrace has a single-depth plan and stands two storeys high, with a three-window range.
The left side of the terrace, which was originally a group of three houses, now functions as one. It features timber lintels above a recessed doorway on the left, which has a boarded door, along with an adjacent window and a small first-floor window above. The right-hand end of the terrace includes the added pair, which has timber lintels above a doorway with a four-panel door, a single ground-floor window to the left, a 2/2-pane first-floor sash window, and a small right-hand window with a cambered head. The former left-hand door has been blocked, and a straight joint extends up from the left-hand jamb. There is a mid-20th century casement dormer on No. 4, and the rear elevations feature an 8/8-pane sash window on the ground floor of No. 8. The interior has not been inspected.
