Description

Nos. 84 and 84A on Gloucester Road is a house that was formerly a shop, dated 1758. It is constructed of limestone rubble and features a large axial brick stack and a stone slate roof. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall with a three-window range. Timber lintels span two inner doorways and the outer windows. The right-hand doorway is topped with a bracketed canopy and has a 20th-century glazed door, with a late 19th-century shop window to its right. The left-hand doorway also has a 20th-century glazed door, while the windows feature metal-framed casements set in oak pegged frames with small panes. There is a date pad inscribed with "IC/1785" located in the middle of the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
