Description

The Hulbert monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard by the north churchyard wall, approximately 26 meters east of the south aisle of the Church of St. Bartholomew. This tomb dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of ashlar stone. It features two shield plaques on each side, plain dividing pilasters, and a moulded base and cornice with a pulvinated frieze. The inscriptions commemorate J. Hulbert, who was late of Hartham and died in 1737, and W. Hulbert of Westrop, who died in 1771.
