Description

The Hulbert Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 4 meters south of the south door of the tower of the Church of St. Bartholomew. It dates from around 1840 and is constructed of ashlar stone on a raised plinth. Each side features a fielded plaque flanked by fielded strips, with baluster corners and a moulded base and cornice. The monument bears inscriptions for S. Hulbert, who died in 1839, and W. Hulbert, who died in 1844.
