Description
No. 50 Edward Street is a 17th-century building that has been altered over time. It is two storeys high, finished in pebbledash with stone dressing, and features a pantile roof. There is a brick chimney at the gable end on the left side. The building has three windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor, which are modern metal casements. The central shop front, dating from the late 19th century, includes three pilasters supporting a fascia, with annuli below the imposts. The gable also has an attic that is lit. At the rear, there is an extension that was once a bakery, featuring large slate slabs. Originally, this building was part of a single house with No. 48. Inside, there is a robust double purlin roof made of stout oak timber.
