Description
Weaver's House, formerly known as Sawdust House, is a late 18th-century cloth mill that has been converted into three flats. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with limestone dressings, featuring gable stacks and a stone slate roof. The building has a single-depth plan and stands three storeys tall, with a symmetrical front that includes quoins, coped gables, and an ashlar plinth. The central doorway has a wide elliptical arch with a 20th-century door and margin lights. There are paired stone mullioned windows in flat surrounds with angle beads, which house 8-light casements. Metal plates are visible on the wrought-iron ties at the first and second floors. The interior has not been inspected. This building is an example of early workshop cloth manufacture and is related to Nos 8 and 9 nearby.
