Description

This is an early 19th-century house, originally two dwellings. It is built of stucco with limestone dressings, brick gable stacks, and a slate roof. The house has a double-depth plan, with a rear wing remodelled in the later 19th century. It is two storeys and has an attic, with a 3-window front. The facade features quoins, a frieze, a cornice, and a parapet, with coped gables. A Roman Doric, pedimented porch with a recessed panelled door is attached. The windows are 6/6-pane sashes, paired on the outside. There are two gabled dormers in the attic. The right-hand return is a 3-window range, built of rubble with altered openings. A left-hand doorway has a bracketed pediment, and there are horned 2/2-pane sashes, paired to the right. The interior has not been inspected. The building’s group value relates to its contribution to the character of the surrounding area.
